My 27-year engineering career provides excellent qualifications and experience to work for the citizens of Legislative District 1.  As a lead engineer, I am assigned complex projects to complete.  I assign personnel, monitor progress, and take common sense steps to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and economically.  These projects require technical, communication, and project management skills.  As your State Representative, I will apply these same skills to the challenges facing us.

I would be honored to receive your vote and will represent you with honesty and integrity.

Great Quotations from Some of My Favorite People

"Elections belong to the people. It is their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters."

     Abraham Lincoln, U.S. President

"You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatreds.
You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man's initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves."

William J. H. Boetcker, 1916 (often attributed to Lincoln)

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

Martin Luther King, Jr., August 28, 1963

"Any fool can bring about clean air by shutting down the economy and going fishing. It's fine for people who have made it to say we won't have any more economic growth. How about the poor, the unemployed, the underfed, the kids that are going hungry? What about the youngsters coming out of school who can't find a job? We have an obligation to them. I say we must have both -- a clean environment and a healthy economy."

Henry M. Jackson, Look magazine, September 21,1971

"I don't agree with people who say that America is sick. America isn't sick. This is a great country."

Henry M. Jackson, The David Frost Show, September 23, 1971

"A government bureau is the closest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth."

Ronald Wilson Reagan, 40th President of the United States

"A leader, once convinced a particular course of action is the right one, must have the determination to stick with it and be undaunted when the going gets tough."

Ronald Wilson Reagan, 40th President of the United States

"Abortion is advocated only by persons who have themselves been born."

Ronald Wilson Reagan, 40th President of the United States

"Common sense told us that when you put a big tax on something, the people will produce less of it. So we cut the people's tax rates, and the people produced more than ever before."

Ronald Wilson Reagan, 40th President of the United States

"Government always finds a need for whatever money it gets."

Ronald Wilson Reagan, Address to the Nation on the Fiscal Year 1983 Federal Budget (29 April 1982).
